Opening Week, Fall Semester

A record number of students from across the nation and around the world arrived on the campus of West Coast Baptist College early Monday morning. Faculty and staff members were available to meet the parents and new students. That evening, everyone gathered to hear guest speaker Dr. R.B. Ouellette preach.

Orientation and registration began at 8:00 AM. Students finalized their classes and were placed in one of the many exciting ministries at Lancaster Baptist Church. After a great service that evening with Dr. Ouellette, students enjoyed a time of fellowship and ice cream out at the ball field.

The fourth annual WCBC Job Fair was held in the Student Life Center. Fifty employers from many companies around the Antelope Valley attended this event. Dozens of our students filled out applications and were hired that day for employment. Pastor Chappell preached in chapel that morning on sticking to the "Old Paths."

Students had the opportunity Thursday morning for chapel to listen to Dr. David Gibbs from
Christian Law Association. After chapel orchestra tryouts began with the music faculty.

After a busy week of registration, the students headed to a local fun park, where they spent the afternoon playing games, making new friends, and enjoying a barbecue lunch. Although the opening week has come to a close, it is certain that the fall semester is off to a great start!
